English Bulldog - Developed in Europe the bulldog in the American standard has been bred to a genetic wonder. So much so that most owners go into purchasing a bulldog with an understanding that along with this genetic wonder comes some genetic challenges. We worked with our vet recommendation to select dogs with less extreme traits, like the European current trends. Our stunning bulldog Greta was selected for her wider hips and having a little larger snout to our vets pleasure. Specifically he said if your going to breed a bulldog try to minimize the features that make the bulldog problematic. Greta has the look, build and qualities of the bulldog with the slightly larger muzzle, less breathing and skin roll problems, in addition to a wider hip area, which is conducive of the back and labor problems seen in most Old English Bulldogs. Our ex-military bulldog family member and Greta's dad has worked for the humane society, trained dogs for those with seizures, PTSD, and work as a vet tech. The love and attention given to our dogs r is easily seen.
Olde English Bulldogge - These are relatively newer dog breed created in the United States. The breed was created to be close to the AKC English Bulldogs but trying to weed out many of the health issues with the breed. Our experience has been this is an awesome breed, great with people and children. They love to please, but can also have a bit of stubbornness. It is said that to create the breed English Bulldog, American Pit Bull, Bull Mastiff and the American Bulldog was combined. We were thrilled to add Odessa a Blue Ribbon Olde English Bulldogge with an Old English look. We will be producing F1 with her for the optimal health of puppies.. We are excited to be part of the movement, loving our OEB's but wanting to see better health!!!
